Thumbs up 1994 WB40 at Randy's

This seems like an extraordinarily well-priced 'Bird on Randy's sale site.

There's a little bit more information on it on RVT or RVTrader, but Randy tells you everything you need to know.

That one does look nice! I am wondering, though, are the headlight lenses glass or plastic on that era Wanderlodge? I'm concerned with purchasing a '90's-era 'lodge and not having a way to replace yellowed/hazed plastic lenses. Thank you.

They are glass and will not yellow or dull. Mine look like new.

Edit: OK I have just been advised I am wrong The headlights are apparently plastic after all. I know I have tapped on them and it sounded like glass to me (but I am deaf as a stump) and it sure looks like glass, because mine don't have the slightest discoloration or dullness.
So I stand corrected and apologize for the wrong information. In my defense the P.O. may have swapped mine out and I would not know, but the originals were apparently plastic

Great news, guys! That opens up a broader list of years we can look at.

This 40' looks very nice, though. 40 and the car trailer will fit in our shop nicely.

:-)

Thanks, Jim, for the clarification. That's cool. I've seen the lenses of these models look a bit hazy at times, but didn't know if it was just something to do with the angle of the lights to the camera. I haven't seen any that have the typical 'old plastic yellow' tinge to them, though, so wanted to know.

I am Still interested, but we both (my wife and I) prefer the look of the older models.

Some may be glass, but some must be plastic,as i have seen yellowed ones also.
They are ford truck,1990 i think, available on ebay and elsewhere.

You can also purchase a micro mesh kit and restore them. The final step is a 10,000 grit sandpaper. Should look like new after following the procedure. I hope yellowish headlight lenses wouldn’t stop you from getting a Wanderlodge.

A little off topic but this thread seems pretty completed.

My experience with polishing plastic head lights is as follows. To get them clear you have to burn thru the outer hard finish. Once you do that you can get them polished up nicely but it doesn't hold long because you have distroyed that hard original surface

Any one have that experience and if so have you found a solution. Redoing the polishing gets old. However those lights are expensive.

Same thing with me John. I’ve got all kinds of polishing machines and different grit polishes and did a great job on mine. Lasted about 3-4 weeks. I have not tried to coat them with something. Maybe I can put it on the list for when it comes out of mothballs.
