Gardener,

My transynd is red in colour right from Allison. I am sure if they listed it that would be what is in there if they are reputable. A simple oil analysis would confirm.

never seen it colored

us army is clear oil and what i bought from allison dealer

Or it could be what was left in my torque converter has colored it Woody. Had not thought of that until now.

I just bought some gallons from DDA and changed my HD 4060 Allison transmission fluid. The TranSynd was red coming out of the gallon containers.

According to Tom Johnson: "The color has not changed. Red dye is still put into the formulation as specified by the specification".

Maybe the military specs call for no dye(color).

the barrels and buckets say tranysnd and came fro the local detroit dealer

the same 1 who told me that you cannot reprogram a ECM for the allisons
