Default Good Sam

Good Sam is running a special for RV and Auto Roadside assistance. You can get three years for $249 for the Platinum protection. If you buy one year it's $89. Sounds like a good deal.

I used to use them. They have no clue but did pay the bill. I sat 8 hours longer than I needed too, but they did pay the bill.

Sorry but I would guess 9 times out of 10 people don't ask for the right equipment, you have to give the correct information. I have been hauled more that once and I got service within a reasonable period of time under the circumstances. Once I was stuck out in the middle of nowhere, on a Sunday afternoon and the nearest service was 50 miles away. Another time I requested a landall and got a wrecker and the driver said he would not tow the coach without a landall and he left to drive back 75 miles to get the landall, all was reasonable. Sometimes you just have to make the best of a bad situation. But what I did learn was you have to tell Good Sam or Coach Net what you have, i.e. a 50K pound bus, 40+' in length and tell them what your problem is, if known, then make them read it back to you. If you request a specific piece of equipment and they say that's not authorized ASK TO SPEAK TO A SUPERVISOR. You should know what type of equipment you need to get you in, whether it's an extended reach stinger or a landall trailer. JMO and experiences.

Called Good Sam said send the bill that it would be paid. DENIDED .Cost me 650.00. Canceled policy . never again. Have good towing on my Coach policy now.

Last week I placed a roadside call because I needed a tire swapped out, and I told them what I had. They still called the wrong place. "Luckily" they didn't come out, they called first, and after finding out they were almost an hour away (no place closer?) I then confirmed he was told what I had, and no, he couldn't handle me. So even if you tell them doesn't always work.

Default Progressive Roadside Assistance

I did look at my policy and this is what Progressive covers for my coach.

Roadside Assistance provides towing to the nearest qualified repair facility and pays for necessary labor at the time and place of disablement when the RV is disabled due to any of the following:

Mechanical or electrical breakdown
Battery failure
Insufficient supply of fuel, oil, water or other fluids
Flat tire
Lockout, or lost or stolen keys. (We dispatch a qualified service provider; you only pay for the cost of the keys.)
Entrapment in snow, mud, water or sand within 100 feet of the roadway
This coverage extends to trailers and vehicles being towed by a motor home and vehicles towing travel trailers, even if the tow vehicle is insured with another insurance company.

If you use this coverage, you pay nothing out of pocket.

Roadside Assistance is available 24/7, anywhere in the United States or Canada.

Yes, that is the price for Motorhome plan. Towable is cheaper.
