Thanks for the tips guys. Would love to just remove the front wheels and put them inside the Runner but he is planning on having a tool box in the back of the Runner, that might pose an issue. :roll eyes:
Totally forgot about the fueling issue.

Maybe he could use the double hitch and put his tool box on it and then the bikes could fit inside the runner? Then everyone is safe.

If you have the fancy tilt bike rack that I posted the bikes flip out of the way - well unless the fuel port for FCs is like behind the tag or something silly like that.

It's, of course, behind the tag. I'll figure it out. Would rather keep them inside, if possible. Would love to put them on top but we are both vertically challenged so that really isn't a viable option...lol

Have seen really nice weather proof bike covers might be worth a look.

Agree on the bike cover.
Mine don't even come back into the garage anymore. They live on the bike rack covered up. Takes about as long for me to get the cover off and off the rack as it did for me to move things around in the garage to get one out. I'm really the only one that uses the bike anyhow.

With your fuel fill behind the tag, I would probably put the bikes on the toad. Again if you go with a good rack like the Chinook you can still get into the back of the toad without unloading the bikes. The cover that I found that fits over both bikes on the rack is from Pro Bike. It comes with a strap that buckles under the bikes and a separate strap to run around them when on a carrier. Mine has only made about 12 hours of drive time so far but it is working great.

Dana, here’s the carrier on our FC. The Jeep toad carries an electric wheelchair. The Roadmaster tow bar has a long shaft out of the hitch so I borrowed a few inches of it and fabbed up a clamp with a a Wall Mart carrier. I can still fuel up with both bikes on it, but the larger fill hose is a bear. No problem with interference between bird and Jeep. (Just another option)

Our Runner is a Gen 2 which means it has a tailgate and not a lift hatch. To open the tailgate, you have to lower the rear window with the key lock outside, then reach in and open the tailgate from inside the door. Any bike rack back there would have to come off before we could open the rear door regardless of how it tilts.

This is a different model, but it is a good look at how it fits on an RV and Toad.

And here is the tilting rack on a truck with tailgate.
