Default Just missed getting into this one.

I was out running some errands and mowing my MIL's yard today. It was really hot and miserable. Anyway, I got into my truck cranked up the A.C. full blast and cooled off. So, I get on US 30, go west, from Columbia City and head home to just west of Larwill. I see nothing of interest and turn onto Binkley Rd., where my driveway starts just a couple of hundred feet from US 30. I stop at my mailbox and get the mail and when I do I could hear sirens blaring and coming from the west going east, towards me. To me sirens are nothing more than annoying and I grab the mail and head down my driveway. I get out of the truck in my garage and I still hear sirens. I'm thinking, "Ok something is going on."

I grab a beer out of my fridge in the garage and shuck my wet sweaty clothes and jump into my shower. I get the sweat off of me and go into the living room and sit down in my easy chair for a well deserved rest after mowing in this heat. I grab my computer and sit down to check my e-mail and I get a notification from the Whitley county Sheriff's Dept. to stay away from US 30 near my home because of a serious accident and all four lanes are closed, 2 in each direction. I was thinking about Michele coming home in an hour or so and she would be late if she got caught up in the traffic. Then later I got a message from the Indiana State Police and this is what occurred. https://content.govdelivery.com/acco...letins/250ad94
Michele got home about 30 minutes later than normal because of the traffic mess but she had no idea what had occurred until I showed her.

Bad deal, feel sorry for the K-9, and worse for the officer.
