Default Toilet burps

Ever since we got our bird in 03, the toilet and bath sink would burp when flushing.
Figured this was normal as never had a BB before.
Fast forward to 2015 in Quartzsite.
Decided to upgrade our Dometic 310 toilet to an elongated 320 one.
Toilet burped also and it was bigger.
Went up on the roof to replace those small can vents that fit over the toilet and sink drains with a couple of those wind spinning Camco vanes.
While had them off, I thought that I would run a hose down the vent and clean them out no having ever done them.
Put the hose down the toilet vent and it spitted back on me.
Figured I had the pressure to high so turned it down...still backed up.
Left it on barely and noticed a small trickle of water coming out the sewer drain.
Turned up the water pressure then and this BIG black hunk of something came out.
Then the vent flowed freely...did the same to the kitchen vent, but it didn't have quite the same problem.
Looked at those little can vents and they didn't have any sort of screen on them.
I figure, over the years, bugs had built a nest in the vent pipe and blocked it very well.
When I put those Camco wind vane vents on, I made a screening patch to go inside the vanes as they also didn't have anything to stop the critters from making a home there either.
Toilet and sink now don't burp, so that was my problem...wife glad it's fixed!

hey Bob.
We had a bird owner named Charlie Peavler,a funny man.
He has (as of last summer)a 1984 PT40 and he wanted to flush his tanks,so he climbed on the roof and took off a vent cover and stuck a garden hose in the pipe and turned the hose on,he had already opened the dump valves.
He went in the house to have lunch and when he came back water was running out of the coach all along the bottom, around the door, everywhere.
Turns out the vent cover he removed was the one for the microwave, looks just like the one for the black tank,so it was an honest mistake!
When he tells the story its a wet your pants, laugh your butt off story!!

Might be funny now but when it happened not so much. Or it certainly wouldn't have been for me. Probably happened right after the coach interior was completely remodeled as well. I am almost paranoid about checking the interior while adding water. Stuff does happen and better to catch it early. First time I connected to city water I had a pretty significant leak because of a crack in the plastic water regulator at the fill point. I got rid of that thing immediately. I've had a couple occasions to have hoses rupture or leak. It happens.

Bob,
I liked your story but what I really appreciate is the timing. I do tend to take my time thinking things through before I get into a project but, by golly, 12 years!!!??? And then it took another 2 years to post about it! I'm going to save this little bit of information for the next time Cheryl asks, "Phil, have you finished that project yet?"

Well, ya know, Phil....I figured it was the small toilet (but what did I know?)
Didn't want to rush a post about it till I was sure (Well, as sure as I can be)
