Default Stuck at gas station - starting issue

Hi,
This morning we couldn't start when leaving the campsite, starter would click and try to turn, but nothing.
Then after letting it sit after a few tries, it ended up doing turning a little and the next try it worked normally.
It started fine after using the dump station and we went kn our way to fuel up.
Now it turned for about 1.5 sec and it cut.
Since then nothing. Like this morning...

It feels like it wants to turn, but it locks up...
We are just south of the SC/GA border on I85.

Any clues? We are stuck at the pump now...
Thanks
JF

Tap on the starter with a hammer. Once started, don't shut it off till you get to where you want to be. I try to limit starter use to once per day.

take the ground strap off on bothends and file it smooth and clean, use a clean new bolt if possible and clean the frame and the stater where it all bolts up.
File the starter bolt smooth and clean (nut)

Thanks for the tips. Our ground strap and starter wiring was just checked and fixed last month.
I ended up knocking on it a couple of times with a hammer and it fired up right away.
I will limit starter use over the next few days as we make our way west.
Thanks

I would never assume that fix didn't loosen or corrode enough in a month's time that it couldn't be the source of your issue. I would be down there checking to make sure. Many times the last thing touched is a source of any issue, because someone didn't do something properly.

Ditto on that. Can't tell you how many times I have had to re-do something that was supposedly fixed.
Also, that issue hasn't been fixed. It WILL RETURN. You need to find the problem BEFORE it leaves you stranded. Hitting the starter got you started but didn't fix anything.

Well, the problem came back yesterday morning. I went under and found that the ground wire to the starter was tight, but not very tight. Made it all tight again, and bird fired up right away.
It was all good again this morning when we left the campground, but 20 minutes after we arrived at the grocery store. And it didn't restart, I checked the ground again, nothing happened, still nothing.
10 minutes later I tried to start just for fun and it did fire like it should, but this time with a big cloud of white smoke and coolant smell... I guess we are not due to leave this place after all...
