Thats correct, it is the vent pipe for both the Grey and Black tanks on the curb side. My coach has the same pipe layout on both sides. Look at the picture below and that will explain the MPV, It's not in line it's at a high point in a drain line and it permits air to enter the pipes so as not to create a vacume and suck the water out of the drain traps. I included a sketch of the pipe layout. The box with the ???????????? may be a location of the mechanical pipe vent. I don't think it has one there, I don't see why it would be needed.
