Hey...first timers to this rally (site #23 22 Feb thru 4 Mar). Is there a schedule published? Totally happy if not...just want to make sure we are prepared for potlucks, etc. We always want to pull our weight at these things, which these things seem to add to ;-( Laissez les bons temps rouler!!!

Based on the "Natchez, MS 10-Day Weather Forecast"

Ya might want to bring your "Go-Lachez"

Best to check with the campground. Our area of the campground is higher than other areas and tends not to flood. Campground staff stay well informed on flooding outlook and affect on park.

If all goes well, Mary Ann and I will join this fine feathered group on the 26th and leave on the 3rd. We'll be in site 37. Wish we could come earlier but gotta make our grandson's birthday in Austin first. Always look forward to this rally rain or shine!

Rain is not a big deal as we have a building to gather in. River crest prediction is mid 50's and the campground is around 70-75 feet so we should be fine. The river is well controlled so if an event occurs we will get plenty of warning. It rained a lot last year and we had a great time.

All I was saying was that you might want to bring a pair of boots and a rain coat.

Got some feedback on the link for the river from members. I posted it on another thread but as usual, I am confused on which one to stay with, so here she is:

https://water.weather.gov/ahps2/hydr...jan&gage=ntzm6

Farming next to a couple rivers we watch this religiously.

Don't confuse the water prediction, 53', being the elevation. The number does not represent that. I contacted the water people with the question of - what is the elevation at 53' water level - but they haven't gotten back with me. They did tell me to contact the campground and ask if it flooded in May 2017. They said only the south edge. They indicated that 55-56' is where it starts in. We are in great shape and as someone said, it will make for better viewing. Looking forward to having fun in the south.

The guage datum @ Natchez is 17.28 feet as I recall. Add 17.28 feet to the gauge reading to obtain the MSL reading on the ground.
