Default WIld Horse Casino, Pendleton, OR: a big thumbs up!

The Wild Horse casino in Pendleton allows overnight dry camping, free, in their parking lot. They also have a dedicated RV park. I'd been told it was way expensive & not worth it when there's the free alternative. I beg to differ.
I called them for prices, their weekday rate is $46 for pull thru, $41 for back in. They are Good Sam, so that knocks the back in price to around $37. But it gets better. Purely by luck, we are staying Tuesday night, which is their Old Farts discount day. You go to their card membership desk, show proof that you're over 55 & get an "Emerald Club card". It entitles you to some casino discounts, but the kicker - another 20% off RV parking Tuesday night only, plus their buffet meal for $9!
RV parking also gets you access to the hotel resort amenities, including their pool, exercise room, hot tub & dry sauna. There's a dedicated pool & hot tub for the RV park, but although quite nice, it's in full sun with no shade of any kind until evening. The parking spaces aren't bad, there's actually grass round most of them. Around 30% have trees; we got here early & requested a shady site, and got one.
Anyone contemplating stopping overnight in the area, I'd strongly recommend staying here...especially if it happens to be on a Tuesday!!

Can I use it for AARP discounted insurance, too? They turned me down for a quote.
