Al:
We had problems with the AH running fine for a while, then not starting.
I had checked the thermostats with a meter and they all checked fine. I replaced the control box twice. It still would cut out periodically. When we were at Coachcraft for some other work it happened again. JohnBoy knew exactly what it was. One of the thermostats would fail on an intermittent basis. It would check fine with a meter maybe 6 or 8 times, but still be bad. He said they would fail regularly, they had a box full of them in stock. He replaced it and it has not failed since that. I believe it was the blue dot, but the invoice is in the coach in FL and we are home in MI until after Christmas.

Al, If you have the troubleshooting manual your probably set....But, I had a similar issue and it turned out to be a tempering valve. Almost impossible to access the guts are replaceable

The tempering valve would effect your hot water, not your heat.

Kip we just replaced ours. if you pull the burner off you can access it easier. we closed all the hot water valves on the water manifold and removed all the guts including the dial. hardly lost any water. takes longer to pull the burner than it does to change the tempering valve. Just an FYI I had originally just had the repair kit ordered and changed. The person that changed it for me unscrewed it and replaced just the bottom parts. The kit comes with just the thermostat, O ring, and spring. He replaced just the parts and reinstalled it. He set it to the marks someone had put on it, therefore he didn't have to turn the dial. Our water was way to hot coming out so I ordered a new valve. Pulled ALL the guts out of the new including the dial and screwed it back in the old housing still in place. Adjusted it with the new dial and it worked beautifully
