Default Diesel Fuel Advisory

I just received a notification from my Company owner that diesel fuel will increase on average $.20 per gallon before Friday. He should know. The Company runs 750 power units and numerous yard dogs.

I was just thinking about taking my coach out for a fuel run, then did the math:

My coach is about 3/4 full. Let's say I need 50 gallons to fill up.

50 gallons at a .20 increase= $10 increase in price.

Round trip mileage to and from fuel stop: 26 miles.

26 miles at 7.5 mpg = 3.5 gallons consumed.

Fuel is currently $3.55. Money spent just to drive to fuel stop: $12.42

Bottom line, not worth the trouble. I'll top off next time I take the coach for an exercise run.

Just topped off my coach on the way to the storage unit. Was 3.69 this morning at 6 AM. Now 3.77 when I filled her to the rim. At this rate, the fuel in the tank is appreciating quicker than my IRA. Wish I had a hughjass fuel tank somewhere.

Local price is $3.86 - $3.90 cash price. If credit card is used it is a dime a gallon higher. Welcome to California prices.
