You are building something that you will use. It will be part of your lifestyle in the future and you will really enjoy it, as it will be exactly (well, within limits) what you want.

Go for it, and don't let the naysayers drag you down.

I, for one, would like to see it when it's done. Next year in Pine Mountain?

Steve

Full timing in my front yard...

That's the plan! Have it ready so we can travel more. As it is now, we either have to have me drive behind the bus so we have a car, or we rent a car, or we go car-less.

Not sure if it would work in your case but maybe check on a hydraulic slave and master cylinder set up for the clutch, just a thought good luck

We considered changin it to a hydraulic clutch but that would require us to remove the new brake booster to drill a hole in the firewall for the new clutch attachment. We both agreed we are NOT removing that booster! That was difficult, to say the least. I have ordered yet another set of headers that state they will work with the z bar attachment. We'll see, when they arrive. In the meantime, we did get the new fuel tank installed. Only had to bend the neck a bit for clearance. Now it's time for the holidays, so the car will sit for a couple of days....but not too many.

Well we finally beat the 3rd pair of headers into submission for that pesky z bar clutch linkage. Now keep in mind this particular set of headers stated they would work for our set up, I even contacted the company myself and they reassured me the headers would work with my z bar. 5 hours it took us to get them to work.
Here's the headers in place and a picture of the z bar so you can see why they had to be modified so freakin much.

Oh they were Randy.
Finally beat them both into submission and they are happily in the car.
he's assembling the exhaust today. he even gave me an early Christmas present, A Holley Street Demon carb. I will be hopefully driving her finally by the next year, I hope.

On another note, I think we may have finally found our new bird house and it's in the town that I want to move to....Milton, FL! It's like the pieces are finally falling into place. Now i just have to figure out what to do with my 21 year old daughter.

I want to see a video of the first start of your first rebuild! I want to see the sheer terror on your face while you crank it over!

Good luck with that.
I gave up trying to figure mine out when she turned 30.
Good luck with the new potential domicile.
