We are all feeling the pain thanks for sharing. I would by 2 but I think you stated the obvious. I have a full tank and haven't hit the key all year for some of the same reasons.

Five or six years ago, steelwheels had a throttle cable made for the FCs. I distinctly remember reading his thread that brought the cable to my attention. The same week as Kiki’s announcement of cable fabrication, I coasted to a stop in LA on the 5 while driving to Knottsberry with the kids. No troubleshooting required, same symptoms as Kiki. I tied a phone charger to the throttle and drove back to Phoenix. Luckily, throttle cables were available a couple weeks later. Pappas is working on a cable for PTs now, perfect timing for me.

Point is, these are the items owners need to purchase before they’re required. Ironically, after breaking down in LA, the wife doesn’t question this type of purchase.

Hope never to need it, but I have mine ready now. I would hate to be stuck on the side of the road, but I would hate it more if I didn't have a way to get the parts I need or already have the parts. I wish I would have had the seal when I had to replace the window (I was on the list) in my 78 FC. The window guy made my old one work, but I got lucky. He almost didn't do the window, which would have stopped the person that bought my FC from being able to buy it. He had to have the window replaced to pass the safety inspection. Dan had the window cheaper than anyone, and now he is working for this group to get the seals. Randy and Dan have done the work to protect your investment. Even if you don't use the bus at some point, you will, or you will sell it. If I were buying a Bus I would want a seal for the windshield to be part of the deal. It is not if but when for the windshield. I'm thankful for having one for the WB. If you own an FC or PT, this is just a maintenance expense that you should do. If you don't and Dan can't make it happen, there is a good chance you will run into an issue that can't be solved in the future.

Thanks for your hard work Randy and Dan - just ordered a set for our 1985 FC! Sooner or later a rock will get thrown up as we're headed down the road... Better to have this on hand. Ordered the locking strip as well.
