Default Headlight Upgrade

Had a visitor and fellow Wanderlodge driver visit last month, and one of the projects we undertook was to upgrade my headlight system on my FC. Bill (Squanderlodge II) had previously built and given me a headlight fog light and driving light relay board. What a difference this made, we did some calculations of voltage before and after, before the relay we were getting 10.78 volts to the seal beams through the light switch, after we now get 13.3 volts at the seal beams and what a difference in light performance.

FC owners this is a must!

John 'n Deb,

Yes, the relay upgrade is probably the most important mod to get done, GREAT JOB! Then a swing radiator, then the stereo, then the carpet, upholstery, brakes, batteries, cables, lights, camera, action blah, blah, blah, blah, blah!

LED marker lights from Steve Birtles are the cheese too!

John 'n Deb,

Do you have any information on this relay board? Is this something you must make or can you purchase it somewhere? I have a hard time seeing anything while driving at night and this may help me in that area.

Thanks

You can do it yourself using Bosch style relays.

Here is page one of the description on john Finn's website:

and page 2 with a diagram:

If you are attending RATS later this month I will have a large supply of TYCO (formerly BOSCH) Relays with me.

You can view the above RELAY / SOCKET kits that I have for sale by going to the link under the picture above, be sure to click on "NEXT" at the right of each page to see more information and uses for these relays, there are many of these types of relays found throughout some of the Wanderlodges, so my advice is to keep a few spares on hand.

Send me an email at iamflagman@aol.com for more information or call me at 803-783-7137

I've had the gear riding around in our coach for some time, maybe at RATS I will finally get it done.
