Default Arizona Campsite

I've never been to Arizona so does anyone have a campground suggestion for the Phoenix or even Tucson or Yuma areas? Going to stay for 2 months (Dec. /Jan). Done with snow and those stupid New England Winters.

We've stopped several times at Beaudry RV in Tuscon (now Lazy Days, I believe) right off the interstate, nice level lots. Easy on, easy off. We stopped in Yuma once and I was not too impressed (of course it was in the summer and nearly all the parks were closed) We found a pretty nice Escapees Park out in the country.

We are win tering at Desert Trails RV Park, near Tucson. First time, but we are sure enjoying it so far. I chose it base on reviews at rvparkreviews.com. Course, everyone's criteria is different. We were looking for activities, hiking trails, etc. It won't be quite as warm here as in valley of sun, but I think warm enough for us.

Default az rv campgrounds

We have wintered at Voyager RV near Tucson for over 8 years. See below. If you like things to do they have great craft shops. i.e., woodworking, lapidary, etc..

In Tucson, don't miss the opportunity to drive up Mt. Lemmon. About 2 hours to the top, which has a little village and ski slopes. My idea of winter; see the snow, then drive back down to lounge in the swimming pool.

I lived in Tucson many, many years ago and I too loved to go up to MT Lemmon. A couple years ago I took Shane & the Archie's up to the top we had a couple feet of snow on top and when we came back down it was in the 60's. Cactus Country RV Park might be worth checking out, they have several seasonal sites and it is east of Tucson, a mile or so off the interstate.

Lee's right. Depends on what you're looking for in terms of $ and experience. Two months parked in one spot and looking for a little luxury? Any of the AZ resorts (that's "resort" not "campground") on this Top 100 Good Sam list should be great. Islander in Lake Havasu City and Gold Canyon out beyond AJ (east of Phoenix) are very nice. Q & BLM wintering is not for everyone but the whole Jan-Feb event should be experienced at least once. If you're looking for boondocking sites, casino parking or state/national park "campgrounds", the possibilities are almost endless. Enjoy the warmth!
