Default What I’ve learned about B.B. wanderlodge

Hello bluebird owners
I have a 1993 bluebird wanderlodge with 8.3 Cummins and Allison 6 speed.
Currently has 317,000 miles.
Biggest issue I had was constant “wandering” all over the road.I had alignments and double checked everything but the shocks. Every mechanic who looked at it said there were no leaks on shocks so they are good. Tuns out they are gas charged and won’t show leakage when worn out. I decided to change all four shocks and what a difference. Like a new bird !!
Fuel filters clogging: the mechanical fuel pump will wear out and slowly lose pressure to the injector pump making you think you got bad fuel ,changed three filters from Canada to Florida then finally when parked on a slight incline would not start. Changed the pump and all is good!
Bad solenoid for dash . Had two go bad in the last seven years .the dash just goes dead for no apparent reason,it is located just under shifter pad in driver side outside access door, one time just tapped on it and got it going but changed it at my first chance,
Burning up alternators: whenever I used house batteries without generator I would use the chassis alternator to recharge the all the batteries while using all the other circuits necessary for operating the coach ,turns out this high load will shorten life of your alternator and it will fail. I was replacing every year or two.
Now I will start the generator first so it will do the heavy lifting for a few minutes before I get underway.

I have owned. This for 8 years and love it .Its my baby!,,

Just a few issues I e had that may save some a you trouble down the road

Yes,it is 102 inchs wide, but its not a Wide Body as we use the term.
His is a BMC 37.
If you call it a WB we will not be able to help with parts or advice.
BB used the WB to classify a model of coach, like Fleetwood or Caprice.

Maybe!
The last time i saw the first BMC it was at an early RATs rally in Perry Ga.
It had a few different things about it.
