Default Tommy Roundtree (hes ok!)

Some of you old timers here know Tommy Roundtree, hes a Southern gentleman of the finest kind.
Hes been a WOG member for a long time and lately hes had some health issues,he has ALS.
He sold his Bird to a member here maybe a year ago,but Tommy is still with us and i call him every now and then.
Hes famous (kinda) for asking how to reset his fuel gauge!!

But just recently he participated in an ALS awareness baseball game.
He managed to throw the first pitch!
He made us all proud!

This was sent to me by Ed Wimberly,my thanks go to Ed for thinking of us here on WOG.

Always loved to be around Tommy and Steve because of our mutual life's work. Being a White Hat Guy! Then of course his cooking prowess at WOG has been heralded for years. My best to Tommy always.

Glad to see Tommy out and about!

Unless Tommy was wearing his "YMRA" shirt, it looks like one of the pictures in the first post is flipped horizontally - here's a different view:

Smile My debut with the Birmingham Barons

Thanks Randy Ed Wimberley and all of my wonderful surrogate family. True I have Lou Gerigh’s Disease, also known as ALS. Instead of getting a sack of ashes and a coat of sack cloth I decided to keep moving and do what I could to help other people with the disease. I became active in the ALS foundation and to my suprize I was asked to throw out the opening pitch at the Lou Gehrig’s memorial game last Sunday evening. Be advised I pitched in High School which was almost 50 years ago. I was asked to pitch the wussie way from the bottom of the mound. I refused and wanted to pitch the real way from the top. Most of you know I have a reputation for being a hard head. But, I wanted to prove even though I am now some what crippled and not long from the use of a motorized wheel chair I believe I still have the right stuff. So hard head and all I did it my way. Nuff said Randy? I enjoyed every second. Now I deeply appreciate all y’all’s
Prayers but how ‘bout looking up your local ALS Association and send a little donation. You all might be interested to know I am headed to Washington DC this weekend to appear before Congress pitching for Congress to put up some money for ALS research. Now, the emotional part. I love all y’all and miss everybody, especially your fur children. If I am able I am going to try to make WOG this year. Being birdless I will have to sign up for a yurt but I am going to do it or hair lip every dog in Georgia. Thanks everybody and be assured I love every body and plan on seeing you this fall. WOG and every member are the greatest. Peace of the Lord be unto you your families and your children!

Tommy
