Finally got my new PXRB Pacbrake installed today. Had to wait on some parts and then figure out how to make everything fit. The first go round I had a leak, so had to take it back apart and add the putty. One of the brackets with a heat shield was broken so I had to fix that. Hope I got it installed correctly.

Pic #1 is getting it all to fit.
Pic #2 everything welded together
Pic #3 heatshield & bracket that got repaired.

Still have to take it out for a test run but didn't detect any more leaks. Got my fingers crossed!

Default PACBrake

FYI, The PacBrake on my 95 BMC does not work unless I am running in gear (not in neutral) so it must be run through the Allison

Mine works through the tranny also, so it has to be running in gear before it will engage. If all goes well I'll get to take it out this afternoon and check it out. Gotta take a nap first.

Looks good Ron.
I feel your pain !
Hope there are no more leaks. That was what caused me the most problems with my install.

Default Pac Brake

From what I understand I should be
able to move my pac actuator by hand ?
on a 1995 BMC. can,t seem to move it
at all. from what i have read the butterfly
valve could be frozen. if anybody has had
this happen please share your solution.

Thanks Pat

Hope you got it fixed.

I cannot move the valve with the actuator attached. Mine would move with the actuator removed but the actuator had a huge air leak. A new actuator resolved the issue.

You can check the exhaust brake with air on the coach and 12 volts applied to the actuator air valve mounted in the engine bay. I run a check every year after my annual service and I have lubed the valve.

Yeah it is hard to check while driving. That is why I use the static in the garage test.

Put air in/on the coach. Follow the air line on the Pac Brake actuator back to the 12 volt control valve. On mine it was on the passenger side of the engine just inside of the rear hatch. Disconnect the Weather Pac plug and apply 12 volts to the valve. Valve should clunk and apply air to the actuator and the valve should move. If not then you know where to start.
