Good luck. I don't have one of those JOBS. Still I do not want to pull a fan motor, water pump, radiator, starter or anything in a Wal mart lot or any place other than home in the nice cool or warm garage. But I know if I do drive it long enough, it will happen. Thats why I hang around here lol.

This is a good example and as mentioned above, good predictive maintenance to have this replaced when a person has a time and the element of choice. I am going to replace the idler on mine this summer, air compressor, water pump, and power steering pump... since this is also in the front I'll have it replaced too. Anything with rubber seems to fail around the 30 year mark. Air valves, etc should also be changed proactively.

Great pictures and advice all through this thread for 3208 owners.

Dan’s mechanic has the new dampener in hand and will start installation shortly.

He needs an installer tool, a threaded press type.

Mike H,
Is that a specialty Cat tool or can you find a generic that will fit?

Well I am on my way. Kyle finished about 2. I have been driving since 3:20. I am stopped at a Cracker Barrel and will get a few more hours in. The coach ran great. Thanks for all your help guys! I couldn't of done it without you!

Nice FC Gene!

Cat has changed part numbers. It is seen in the picture.
