Default Mystery switch

Just got a 78 33 footer, there is a gray switch by the shore power
switch does anyone know what it is for

The switch may be for controlling the step. When you park at a campground you can set it so the step remains out when you close the door.

On the 1980 I have 2 switches in there, one is the generator in/out air control and the other is for the step like Gardner said.

Mine had a big grey breaker (guess you might call it a switch) for the external buddy plug.

I never found out what mine did(actually nothing), and no one could tell me. This was on Ernie's old forum, in the last century.

It's a switch and circuit breaker that controls the outlet near the driver's seat. That outlet is where the "safeline" shoreline alarm is or was plugged in. That outlet is not wired through the main circuit panel.

What David said. Look at my album and see how I replaced the safeline, made it myself. The switch turns the outlet on & off next to the driver.
