Default 3208 Power Steering Filter

I'm looking for a part # for the power steering filter for my 3208T. Tulipvendor supplied 8720M (Donaldson) but I can't find it and neither can NAPA. I saw John Finn's NAPA #1430 for a 3208NA. Any reason for it to be a different filter in a turbo (nah...)???

TIA

I pulled the PS filter out of my 85' FC35 (3208T) last week and it was marked LF634. I think that is a Fleetguard number although I have not ordered the replacement filter yet.

Sometimes people substitute a filter that fits physically but may be the incorrect one, I have seen that.
I dont have my little notebook for the FC35 anymore it went when I sold the coach so I dont have access to the right numbers anymore unless I hunt.
But from all of the numbers already given it appears to me that the correct filter is the Fleetguard LF634 or the Napa gold 1487 both of which cross reference to the same WIX number of 51487. The baldwin 8720M does not cross reference and the napa 1430 cross references to a WIX 51430 which I believe is wrong. Maybe John can clarify if that is the correct number off his filter?

The NAPA 1487 seems to be the one. Same size, some top and bottom orifices and a slightly different pattern on the sides. It's in...

Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.

After paying nearly $100 for the NAPA #2598 air filter (large metal box) I'd sure like to find a more economical alternative!!!

Default 3208 Power Steering Filter

Pete:

Gosh, did I give you that number, I must have been smoking something, dang.
The number should have been Donaldson 87904m.
Sorry about that.

Here is the link to the part numbers that I provided;

Wanderlodge Owners Group > Mechanic's Corner > Engine > CAT 3208NA Filters

Quote:
POWER STEERING RESERVOIR (1)
85430 (CARQUEST)
1430 (NAPA)
51430 (WIX)
LP176 (LUBERFINER)
I have no idea if a TA engine would take a different power steering filter than my NA engine and without opening the reservoir and checking the filter, I believe that the CARQUEST filter is the one that I have in there now. The filter that was in the reservoir when I purchased the 'Bird was cross referenced by my local CARQUEST dealer and that is the part number that he came up with. I have the NAPA filter as a spare, so far for the past three years since the power steering filter was changed I have had no problems, I'm not sure at what intervals that filter should be changed.

I have had very little problems with my power steering, especially after I drilled the small vent hole in the reservoir cap and an occasional belt adjustment.
