Default Our Bird is Home!!!

As some of you know I have been seriously seeking a Bird since Late October. We had a gorgeous 88 FC but ill health interfered with ownership. In retrospect I should have kept her!! I just missed out on a few nice units but they were gone in September. I looked online at many units but I am fussy and did not want one that needed major work. In the end I ended up buying from a friend on this board. We just returned to Mexico with Robert Britton's 88PT38. Buying from people like the Britton's was painless! This Bird has to be the nicest 86 to 88 PT38 in existence. Rob has some pictures in his album. We drove the 1100 miles with Zero problems. Of course I had to learn about Birds all over again. Couldn't find all the switches! Even the heaters were hard to get going '. Everything works as it should. Handles like a dream. Pulled my 6200 lb. Silverado upo the Tehatchapi and held 44 mph. !! Our 08 Dynasty with an ISL slows to 35. Used just over one quart of oil. Rob filled the compartments with tons of new parts! He made sure I had everything for the trip: extra oil and AF, new water hose, fancy sewer hose and more! I even got the tool box full of tools. naturally there are a few things I have to fix. Rob had started to install a new Rayzor antenna but it is not hooked up. The original owner had Coachcraft install 2 flat screens and a complicated dual amplifier sound system. But somewhere there is a disconnected wire so no radio. I will tackle that but if too difficult will need some advice for a good stereo geek in AZ. The oil pressure gauge has a short somewhere and I think I will just go to a digital unit. One front jack has a leak but there is a complete new jack in the basement! I need a gorilla to lift it into place! A few small items but overall it is awesome. Even the roof looks like it is new. I have bought lots of RV's but never found one in this condition. The toaster was never used until Yvonne made some toast! The sink glistens. The front carpet has been covered since the coach was new! I will be on the forum with lots of questions. Thanks to everyone that answered previous questions!!

Congratulations! Sweet looking bus! If I ever decide to part with my FC, this one of the buses that I’ve kept my eye on, just in case. I even have a picture of it in my files
