Default Considering my first Bluebird and have some questions

I am new to the forum and considering the purchase of my first Bluebird! The coach shows great, but does have a few things that need attention and I want to have some additional information before I make an offer. First concern is two of the windows (drivers window and passenger window) are smoked/fogged. Is this a common problem? Will they get worse with time? Should they be replaced? and if so, any idea on cost?

I do have several other questions of course, but I'm not sure if I should list them all in this thread? of if it's best to start a new thread for each question?

Thanks for any input,

Darin

Since we don't know what model coach your talking about i will take a guess.
If LX or LXI with insulated side windows in the front, yes, they get moisture between the panes.
In dry climates the moisture is not really noticeable, and i have noticed on really humid days in the south the they fog more,on dry days in the winter, not so much.
It never bothered me much, except when driving at night and making turns on tight streets.
I replaced my insulated glass with laminated glass and they will never fog again.
The price on insulated glass was almost the same as the laminated, but the insulated glass was not important to me.
I did mine myself,so no labor.

Randy, Thanks for such a quick reply. I should have thought to include the model, it is a 2000 LX 40 that I am considering. Good to know the glass replacement could be a DIY project. Where would I find the new glass? Local RV dealer? or is this something that is more difficult to find?

The local RV dealer may have free popcorn for you,but thats about all.
I had a local glass shop cut my glass.

Darin Welcome,
there is a lot to learn, look at the BBB banner at the top of the home page,
talk to randy before purchasing from a dealer.

Mike-I live in OH (I'm in Columbiana County, so not far from you), but the coach lives in GA.

Thanks for the tip…No dealer involved, it's a private sale. I have been talking with the current owner, but any additional tips are appreciated!

Darin, no big deal on the windows being fogged. You can call Scott at RV glass. here is his contact.
RV Glass Repair

Greensboro NC 27401

don't quote me on the price but I believe it was around $300 and that was with shipping. I just gave him the make and model of our bus and sent a picture with the measurement. he already had a template for mine.. just took a few days to get it and the fit was perfect. good luck

check manufacture dates of the tires and check all the batteries and see if and when they were replaced. Those are two high dollar items you may have to buy before you make a trek towards home.
