During my six month job in Marion Indiana I became friends with Larry Petrosky the great-grand son of the man the town is named after. He too likes beer--imagine that! Unfortunately he is suffering from lung cancer and just now recovering from have a 1/4 of one removed.

If anyone is in town for Florida Fly wheelers, there are many brewing companies in Tampa and St. Pete that you might enjoy. Cigar City in Tampa is excellent in Tampa and 3 Daughters Brewing in St. Petersburg, are just two of at least 10 in the Bay area.

Bragg - I haven't been to Cigar City (yet) but I love their Jai Alai IPA, its very well known.

Overall it sounds like I need to spend some time up in Michigan.

Default Growlers

One thing I found strange while traveling around the country is the various states rules on Growlers. Out west, AZ and CA, they tape the growlers after filling. In NC, don't bring you're own growler, they can only fill growlers with their name on them. Anyone else run into strange laws?

As we travel along I pick up local beers to try. I try, key word being try, to safe one or two from each six pack to share with my friends here at home. This was the bounty from my last trip.

Georgia has some very restrictive laws regarding the sale of beer by the craft brewer. My son-in-law is known as "The Craft Beer Lawyer" and is involved in day to day negotiations with both the Georgia General Assembly and the craft beer industry.

Beer is beer to me. All good.

look forward to a beer!!
