I'm using the cable that came with my tow bar. But they sell them separately. And well I didn't remember the pin count on the one end, it is 6 pin not 5.

Here is a 6 video series on setting up a toad. While it is for a Wrangler, the methods are the same.

Thanks Bruce, for the tips and videos. I may just do this project myself while the hubby is away. I got an LED brake/ turn signal tape light for the rear of the Runner that will tie into the existing lights via the Runners trailer light pigtail.

I prefer to make a light "Bar" with LED lights that goes into the trailer hitch receiver, the lights are vertical and give you some protection for the factory tail lights on your car.
I run a completely new wire from the coach to the back ofthe car,i do not molest the wiring on the car or "add" bulbs to the toads lights.

Good point Randy. I might have to mount the LED brake tape to the bike rack that will be behind the toad, holding our mountain bikes.

Speaking of bike racks. My original rack suffered a case of whiplash on I-20 and the tiny tube bent. I had to ratchet strap it to the tailgate to get it home. LOL.

Anyhow, it has now been replaced by a Swagman Chinook Hitch Bike Rack.

This thing is great because it locks the bikes in place, you can put a bike cover over the bikes while on the rack, and it tilts out of the way to allow access to your tailgate, or engine hatch. It feels much sturdier than my Walmart rack did too. Now my bike actually lives on the back of the bus. When I want it I just pull the cover off, unrack it and head out. I don't have to take the bikes off to get in the engine bay since it tilts back out of the way (and I can sit on it too). I do use an 18" extension tube on my lower hitch mount for the tow bar. So my bikes are between the coach and the toad now. Before I always put them on the toad because they blocked the engine hatch, but on the toad they also blocked the toad tail lights. I'm happy with it.

OK Bruce, how are you attaching that to the back of the bus while also pulling a toad? Do you have 2 receivers back there?

Never mind, I found a dual hitch on amazon and bought one.

Actually, I have 4 back there. Apparently the previous owner had a motorcycle lift. In the center I have an upper and lower receiver. You can do the same with one of these dual hitch receivers if you want. You can kinda see them in this picture above the towbar.

Technically I probably don't need the 18" extension, but I like not having the grill of the truck so close to the bikes. I should probably measure some time to see what the actual clearance is.
