Default How to Select a Wanderlodge (Spread Sheet)

There should be an equation to help you and others decide what coach fits your needs.

Budget, how much do you want to spend.
Pusher or FC.
Ceiling height.
AC systems.
Engine choice.

Lets say $40k
Pusher
7'
roof airs
Cummins
Results?
Sorry,BB did not build a 7' tall coach.

Well, you get the idea, theres a few things you have to deal with, like it or not.
1-Ceiling height.
This choice comes back to how much can you spend?
If the budget is $40k and below, your stuck with PT's,FC's and SP's.
With the SP being the tallest?
But,its only 36',so if your looking for a 40' coach,your down to the PT's.
The PT was built from 1982 to 1988.
Some had cruise airs, those are not what you want,so we move up a few years from 1982 to maybe 1986?
When did the cruise airs disappear?1986?
So,now your market is 1986-1988,but its still too short for the tall family.

Now,for more money you can get a WB,1988-1995 with the 8V92,price range as low as $50k maybe, for a good one.
No cruise airs.
Taller inside.
8V92,i hope you like that engine?
Thats what i would buy,if i had a budget (you have not shared your budget)of $55k.

Don Bradners coach is one to look at.1990
Woodys coach,1994
Trips coach,1993
all 3 are good, known coachs with HISTORY!

Ok,this is all in good fun,but its a way to narrow down the options.
Good luck,if i can help,give me a call.
Or ask away,we will all help spend your money!

Funny you mention this Randy. I was looking over the Vintage Birds site one day and trying to follow all the changes by coach over the years. Like you said I wanted to know which ones had larger gray/black water tanks, etc... I couldn't find all the info in the same spot so I thought I'd start a spreadsheet so I could sort by desired features to help find the bus "made for you". If people want to contribute I can complete this task as it was taking a lot of time to research.

The fields I was tying to get data for;

Year, Length, Engine, Fuel, HP, Tranny, Model, Speeds, width, Fiber Caps, Bedroom config, Fresh, Gray, Black capacity, LP size, Fuel tank, Suspension, tag/wheels, genset, AC type, etc...

I was researching 1974 - 2000 but stopped there due to the difficulty I was having with the newer coaches, finding info, and all the additional things added.

Think that would be worth spending more time on?

Problem is we need someone to help us with that time!
Would you or anybody else want to work on that?

I have a spreadsheet started. I don't mind doing it if I can get people to contribute info? For instance, the Fresh water tank sizes on my 78 are not what the Vintage Bird sites states. And I know that tank sizes (and fuel too) will be different depending on side bath vs rear bath.

So what's the best way to get this started? OR, should it be posted up on the WOG and people can see it and comment? Maybe if we do that then more people could contribute time and effort?

Default Sample Spreadsheet

Here's a sample of the spreadsheet I was working on but in text format as I cannot attach a spreadsheet it appears? Open to suggestions and input. Basically trying to capture all the "basic" info on the busses so they can be distinguished better. I did this in hopes of helping both new comers and old timers (sorry Randy) choose a bus for their first bus or for upgrade purposes.

NOTE: I had to cut lots of fields to make it fit the Word landscape format.

Michael, I took a look at your sheet. Looks good. Our 90 SP is the same as the 92 other than the Generator. Ours has an 8 KW Onan.

Good Catch.. tend to miss those in the desert..

Actaully I have a "comments" section that catches that, inverters, jakes, alternators, and any upgrades from model to model.. BUT, I think it needs to be a field so you can seach by it.

Thanx.
