Default Central Vacuum System Installation

It occurred to me that I did not have to be on my hands and knees with the small Red Devil vacuum cleaner. So I researched the central vacuum systems and took Ron Rueckwald’s recommendation and got the Intervac system. I decided that I didn’t need the remote control model since I was going to switch the power to the vac with a switch near the hose inlet at the end of the kitchen counter. I also wanted a small vacuum sweep intake under the toe space of the kitchen counter….I call it the “toe sucker” that I can sweep dirt and dust into it from what will later be a hardwood floor.

This is the floor intake valve:

Of course, I wanted the noise in the basement (in the “Mother-in-Law” Suite) where I could change the vacuum bags and vacuum the toad without hauling out another machine. So now there is an outlet for the hose down stairs and one upstairs in the kitchen/living room area of the Bird (The great room!).

Here is the installation in the basement:

I had to run the plumbing up thru the floor to the back side of the ice machine and under the kitchen sink area.
(If it sucks, is it still called “plumbing?).

Layers of floor:

Under the sink:

And, of course, I just barely hit the edge of an angle structural steel member:

I ran the power from the receptacle in the basement up to a switch at the end of the kitchen counter behind the trash can:

I tee’d the tubing so I could connect the “toe sucker” and the hose connection.

This is behind the ice maker:

I had to cut an access panel in the cabinet floor so I could run the plumbing to the inlet valve:

And the access cover under the big drawer under the sink:

Judy said "Great, I know you're going to have fun with that system" with a big grin....did I miss something here?
