Default New Storage Location for My Bus

The location where I keep my bus has been very convenient for me, but the last few months the new large vehicles in the spots next to me have made it difficult for me to do much of anything while the bus is in storage.

This Saturday I decided to go take a last look at the place that I have been seriously considering for some time.

Here is what I found when I arrived: (I guess I won't be moving)

Yeah. I think I just sat there with my mouth open when I saw it. It didn't seem real.

Apparently it happened Christmas Day.

When I was forced to store my bus in Oklahoma City on the way home from Q due to bad weather I used a facility like this.

I was concerned when I got there... they allowed owners to leave their units plugged in and charging. No requirement to turn off propane etc.

I didn't have much of a choice but I verified that my insurance was active in the USA for this purpose.

I did not leave my bus plugged in. All batteries are disconnected and the propane is off. I can't say that for the neighbor 5th wheel I parked beside. Fingers crossed I will see my bus again in April.

Please forgive my ignorance. I was under the impression that since Birds had a parasitic electrical draw that they needed to be plugged in when in a storage facility. I realize that there are many who go to rallies like Q where there is no power outlet, but I did not think that was a long term thing. Will someone kindly enlighten me - thanks.

Timothy,
There is no parasitic draw when the battery ground cable is disconnected, from both start and house batteries...
I have an F250 pickup, that I leave at our lot for 6 months with the grounds removed on two batts, get home, connect up and it starts right up...

OK Larry, so this is when the application of a high quality battery disconnect switch is used, correct? Thank you for the clarification.
