Default Air Alarm going off with 110+ lbs?

Just replaced the governor on the air pump...that fixed the problem with building air right away. But driving today, twice, the low air light and buzzer went off. Both times air was near the 120 mark where it "burps" air to relieve pressure. driving in the city. Any idea what may make the low pressure alarm with good pressure?

It might be a defective switch.

John put a switch in line so you can turn off light and buzzer. Works great!

I would not bypass this very important Safety Feature with a switch. Find the problem and repair it. Can't be much wrong. Wire, or sender is about all it can be.

The "burp" is probably an air drier spit. The purge cycle of the air dryer begins when the governor causes the compressor to unload (stop compressing air). During compressor unload, the line connecting the governor unloader port to the air dryer end cover control port is pressurized. The air pressure causes the air dryer purge valve to open.
Here is a good how it works article.

The 'low air' sensor reflects the 'wet tank' pressure. The gages on the dash show the 'brake tank' preassures. The compressor feeds the wet tank which in turn feeds the brake tanks. One way valves prevent the brake tanks from draining back into the wet tank. So the wet tank can get low due to leaks and trip the sensor if the governor doesn't kick in soon enough.

But more than likely the pressure sensor is bad or the wire is grounding somewhere. (the sensor grounds the wire to turn on the light and buzzer)

Gardner help with find mine and it was the sensor on the wet tank. I removed it and took it apart cleaned it, put it back on and worked great.
