Default Yet another Sporlan valve question...

I've read the threads in the forums on Sporlan valves and I still need help. The 'tank fill' switch on my LX has stopped working. I connect the fresh water hose, turn on the water and hit the 'tank fill' valve switch...nothing happens. That satisfying 'click' it normally makes does not occur, and no water flows into the fresh water tank.

The attached image shows the Sporlan valve (circled in purple); does anyone know how I might diagnose this issue?

Also, does anyone know what the black knob (which turns, circled in green) just below the Sporlan valve does?

Determine if you have 12 volts at the switch and Sporlan valve if the voltage is at the valve and it doesn't work the valve is bad.

The black knob is a pressure regulator. Follow the air line to see what it regulates. May be the air purge for the water system.

I had that same problem...on the way to Q, where there's no water.
Luckily for me, it turned out to be the mesh filter on the water inlet clogged with debris. If you get no, or very little, water pressure when hooked up to shore water, that's your problem.

Rick,

I have 13.47 volts DC at the switch; can't reach the valve easily. I will assume the Sporlan valve is bad for now.

It's too bad that there is not a manual backup valve in-line that could be used in case the Sporlan valve does not work.

I have water pressure when hooked up to shore water. The inlet is clean and clear.

remove that screw & coil, it's a 12 volt electro magnet. remove and see if it will attach to the screw driver... (Magnetism) , clean the diaphragm four screws.

Bill, do you mean the screw in the center of the blue plate marked 'Sporlan' on the valve?

I would take apart the sporlan valve and clean it with vinegar or CLR. The calcium build up is probably the cause of your problem. There is a rubber diaphram that needs to be cleaned including the pin hole which is crucial for it to work properly.

Yes, try to pull the coil off of the stem, turn the switch on , energize the coil,
do not leave it energized, just for a test. Then the four screws should be visible
