Default 1978 FC in West Palm Beach, FL

Mary and I just went to see this 1978 Blue Bird as it is listed for $1900 asking. Looks like a 31 ft., they said it runs, but did not try due to inside conditions. Would need to be towed.

It definately is a parts coach only as it was used for a mobile work office numerous years ago and was last registered in Feb. 2007.

If I had an older FC and a place to part it out, I would have bought it for the engine, transmission, dash, mirrors, windows, and windshield, etc.

VIN 35931
Manuf. Date 7/28/1977
Body # F35931

We saw that one too. It looks like a 33 to me but it's hard to tell without having any inside pics.

No too far, No time to work on it. Retired and busy as ****. Funny. At least I can sleep in. Anyway, I slowed down a bit. Currently restoring a 06 Smart CDI diesel. Got it off a widow of an old man who bought it new. Only 25,000 miles on it. They lost the keys and its a major pain getting new ones to work. I will tell you, Smart has it down for security. Unless you just pick it up lol. Found out what to do and should have running next week.

Not a turbo, but they said it has sat most of its life as a mobile work office which is why the 3208 only has 400 hours on it. Top was covered with radio antennas and has a rear obsevation platform on top. Not something you would want to try and restore unless you have a lot of free cash.
Part it out and recoup your money and then some.
Could have been a 33 but did not have a tape. Going by the Body and VIN numbers ending with 31.

To the best of your knowledge, was the interior present? overhead bins, bath, water tanks, dinette, the major stuff?

The blue/white exterior color scheme alone is worth $1k...…...

The interior was in very bad shape. The overhead bins were falling down hanging by screws in the front as the backs had come loose from the ceiling/walls, the ceiling panels were drooping, the roof vent fan was leaking and deteriorated, the kitchen was not there, doors missing off the bathroom and shower, but the toilet was there although I did not lift the lid for fear of what awaited. Lots of wires and hoses hanging loose inside and out and it was moved to a different location by dragging it as the rear brakes were locked, guessing it would not build or hold air to release spring brakes or they were stuck. Did not ask the young lady since there was a large pile of dirt pushed up in front of the rear wheels.
Could not find a date on the Goodyear tires, but did not see any noticeable cracking and all were holding air.
Remember, she stated it has been sitting most of its life, so the gas for the genset is probable varnish, and the diesel is probably full of algae as a guess.

That was my first thought. Slightly different than my '82. Back might be the same. Both of mine are pretty rusty!
