Crit,
There is a threaded adjustment rod in the cap, does that just pull out with the cap or does it need to be unscrewed? Gaskets/O-rings for that item are not part of the top cap kit.

Actually I was thinking the shaft seal could be replaced without removing the cap at all, maybe, but the drawings on the forum not very clear.

The rod should pull out with the cap. I ordered the kit and should get it next week. I'll post pics as I repair. I have a few polishing pics. Details are in another thread.

Nice looking 'bird Jason! Just think, you have 5 months to get it ready for the long drive east to Pine Mountian so that we can all see one of these rarities!

Seriously, I remember looking at the picture of one of these pushers that used to hang in the WL parts department. I never thought then that I may get to see one someday. Great project you have there and I'm sure it will turn out really nice!

Unfortunately, long drives east are not in the cards right now. I do get to retire in 2 years and plan to travel at that time. Until then, it's beach and mountain camping with an occasional Laughlin trip (didn't they have a mini rally in Paso Robles a few weeks ago? I'll do that if recurring). I went to Oshkosh last year, rented a tent trailer for the week and slogged through the mud and mosquitoes. I remember seeing some Wanderlodges there, but at the time was not familiar with them. I'd love to have my bird there next time (my wife will need to drive, because I want to fly to Oshkosh my next trip).

Jason,
Did you see my post on blowing the seal out with air pressure? You can replace the seal without taking the top off, and if the O-ring below the top isn't leaking then you can leave the top in place.

Thanks for including that link to your post. I had not seen it and I am doing that job this afternoon. Sounds like the method I need to use!
