On the opener - that is a beeefy torroid transformer and I doubt it has failed. The rectifier would get hot and puke, that's probably the most likely parts-swapping candidate and cheap/easy. It's possible that the motor is gummed up and drawing more current than it wants to give? These things can be check with a proper DC clamp meter and a helper. But if you're swapping parts just do the rectifier and see what it does.
Ohh yeah,that transformer is huge.
Maybe the motor is the problem,i will check it out when i get back in a month.
Thanks Andy.
Looking for a deal on shirts, everyday.

After coming home from our summer trip to Kerrville and the brewery tour of NM we got back home and had to mow and bail the hay in the back yard and fix the gate and all kinds of other stuff that we just dropped when we ran off to enjoy the Texas heat (well ok,we enjoyed the Ga,Al,Ms,La,and then Texas heat too)!
Since we have been back i worked on both of the old birds and the van and Carols car needed freon and on and on.
But the truth be told, its just been too dang hot to just get out there and get down on any of the projects.
Its HOT!.

Meanwhile i have been stacking up the supplies i need for some other on-going stuff,so the yard is stacked up and i did organize a few work areas..

Now it looks like some tropical weather is blowing up from the gulf,we need the rain bad and maybe it will cool off this heat wave.
The grass is brown,i have not had to mow since we got home and bailed the hay.

Well now. I have my grass mowed more frequently with this daily dose of multiple rain and sauna like humidity. It’s so hot that I was in Naples installing a wired security camera in my moms attic that the wood beam trusses were so hot you could not touch them. I set an alarm every 10 min to get out rest and drink water before heading back up. Furthermore back in Miami I was doing the usual RV stuff and decided to jump in the pool, it was uncomfortably warmer than usual and settled for a shower and a beer instead. It’s been that kind of summer.
