Default Battery Dead

When I went to start the Coach for our weekend camping trip on Friday all batteries were to low to start the coach. I checked the Generator battery and it was also down. I was able to get both going with a jump but it had only been a week since I last had everyting started. I know on my 79 FC that I have a master battery swith that I turn off and it always starts even if its been a month. Does the 83 PT40 have the same switch or do I need to be looking at something else? I could not find that anything was left on in the coach.

May be that your monitoring systems are still on. That's propane, refrigerator, clocks, tank status, etc. On our fc there's a black toggle switch in the overhead compartment just forward of the bathroom that turns them off. Don't know where it is on the pt.

You will run the batteries down after a few days if not charging or disconnected. My PT has a switch under the dash but it doesn't shut everything off, so I added a master disconnect switch in the engine bay by the batteries.

You never know where they put them. On our '82 the electronics master is in the battery compartment. Looks just like the other master switch under the shifter.

The newer the coach the more parasitic loads to kill the batteries.
On my 80 FC 31, with the master switch below the shifter shut off I am good for at least a month. Newer coaches NO WAY without plugging in and charging or added full battery disconnects.

Lance - on my 87 I have a 12 disconnect under the dash by the drivers right knee that disconnects interior lights, the monitor panel and dash radio. I have an electronics master in the driver side overheads just before the kitchen. AND I have a master battery disconnect in the engine compartment that will completely disconnect the batteries from the coach. If I am going to let mine sit for more than a week I just flip the master disconnect and the inverter/charger will just maintain the batteries

I'm going out to the coach tonight and start looking for these disconnects. Thanks for the help.
