Default Fantastic Ultra Quiet air compressor (60db)

Found this when looking for a replacement for my AUX compressor (the GAST). The previous owner installed a Porter Cable which is underpowered and very LOUD (90db+). Shakes like a politician in church.

California Air Tools makes Ultra Quiet air compressors of all sizes and volumes, best of all Home Depot has a bunch of them with free 2 day shipping right now......no idea how long that will last.....

Home Depot Link:

Short video on how quiet they are:

The first one got here last week and is so quiet I ordered a second one...

I have no financial interest in either company (home depot or california air tools).

I've had a California 15020c for a couple of years. Really puts out and is very quiet.

Many have switched over from the Gast to the California compressors. Much less expensive and they work well.

I had a CA Air Tools, but on my 94 the water bay and air bay are one and the same. So a little water spray turned my compressor into a lump of aluminum from a short. I took it apart to see if I could fix it (nope) and the pistons are at least 2-2.5 inches each. They do make some air.

Oh and Amazon has the same price if you're a 5% cash back Store Card user.
I can't ever seem to get HD to give me a discount online.

I'd spend some time with Amazon customer feed back, some comments were a bit disturbing. Frankly, "California" name plate doesn't fill me with confidence, however quiet is nice.

You generally get what you pay for, and Gast is made in the US. You can overhaul them, too, but you must watch the video to assure you do not allow the pistons to hit the head.

Just looking around online and I noticed that there are 2-3 other manufactures that have the same style compressor; which makes me think they are made by someone else entirely. They are good compressors though.

I'm replacing the Porter Cable pancake in mine. Is the 2.0 gal CAT enough or would the 4.6 gal kick on less often and last longer?

I actually have the 1 Gallon CAT compressor and it works for a good 5-6 flushes on the toilet before it cycles. I have it connected to the coach tanks, but I have the valve closed between them. I open it when I'm driving and the bus will run the toilet valve.
