Default Racor 900FG Fuel Filter/Water Separator

This filter on my coach looks in bad shape, "ring" floating in bowl, don't know if this part of the turbine centrifuge or not?? I am thinking about replacing the whole unit. I took the Bird out last weekend and it shut down on me climbing a hill. I am trouble shooting like heck and think at this point it is a fuel system issue?? Is this filter available or am I barking up the wrong tree??
THANKS

It is a good filter all parts are available,

find a dealer for parts. http://www.parker.com/portal/site/PARKER/

http://www.parker.com/docs/Parker.co...eal%20Kit).pdf

Take it apart , these are several O rings that may need replaced.

Brett,

Are you sure you are not seeing a heater wire in the bowl versus an o-ring?

Do you have a RACOR fuel pressure/vac gauge on your year FC? If so, should not be going into yellow/red zone under accel.

It seems your on the path to checking/changing fuel filter, the racor internal filter and the secondary screw on fuel filter on engine. Do change them out to eliminate them as factors.

Thought I would mention that another possible problem point may be your Facet fuel delivery pump may be out (if your year had them). If you search under Facet, you'll get hits as to location, what it looks like, and trouble shooting.

Best of luck...

Glenn
I had a chance this weekend to take a closer look at the "ring floating in the glass bowl. I confirmed it is indeed the turbine portion of the filter not the heat gizmo.
Frank
Located the facet pump and I hear the clicking so I assume it is operating properly.
A new Racor 900 FG is not easy to find, I tried the site Bill recommeded to no avail. Any other retailers I can check?
I did have a mechanic tell me "You don't need it, just remove it and hook the fuel lines together, there are other filters that will do the job" this makes me uneasy!! Thoughts?
THANKS!!!

Make some phone calls the problem is that a lot of this stuff isn't listed online. You need to talk one on one with some one who has a more complete parts list . That was my experience. It's available.

Its been a few years now but just like Bill says, parts are available. I put a new bowl on mine. The Racor site should give you a dealer list.....
