Max,

Sounds like an easy repair for someone who does fiberglass work on cars or boats.

Default Rear Cap Fix

While I was here in Ocala, RV Collision and Restoration (see first post) was fixing a Mandalay. Don't know who makes that but it was a pretty motor home with a nice paint scheme. The guy had backed into something and they were doing major repair on the fiberglass back cap below the taillights. They cut out sections, backed the holes and redid the fiberglass. They then did a great job with the finishing and painting. The paint job was so deep and sharp you could have shaved in it. They blended it around the corners to the sides, and you could see the difference. And did a great job of color matching. As I said, not cheap I'm sure, but it looked very nice to me.

Until that back end gets dirty, the owner will probably wish he could have gotten the whole thing painted.

Default Repaint

What I meant to say was that you could see the difference if you looked very closely because the original paint job had more "orange peel" and the new painted part was much smoother (better paint job than the original). Not like any obvious difference or anything like that

Default BMC front and rear caps

They are not selling the rear caps as far as I know. I think they feel that unless it is crunched really bad they can fix it.Since the caps are riveted on I don't think they have had a chance to make a mold of one.

Thanks for the replys to my dilemma. I think my hole is small enough that a good shop could probably fix it with no problem.
I still have an unanswered question though. Lets say that a cap (front or rear) was really mangled on a corner. Are there replacements available to graft onto the original or do you just try to replace the entire cap? just wondering what the process is if a bus gets really damaged?
Thanks Max
