Default Wide body width + mirrors?

What is the width of a wide body coach including mirrors? My FC fit in my 12' wide garage door no problem...

Thanks!

Robert, I just measured Rick Archie's 97 and he needs 10 feet, minimum to go thru a door. The 12 door would work fine.

I dunno, measured mine...11.5 mirror to mirror. I got 10' doors at the barn in ID, need to fold one to get in.

I guess I should have said-- that due to different mirror angles, your results may vary. I always forget that part-DUH!!

Default BMC width

My BMC is a little over 120 inches (10 feet) mirror to mirror

I thought that was the maximum width to still be legal

Mirrors (and other "safety appliances") aren't counted in the "legal width".

Mirror angle makes a _big_ difference in width, but a 12' wide door should usually take a WB without serious difficulty -- if you have a fairly straight shot to get in the door.

The WB is 8'6" wide. Mirrors add about 20-24 inches to the overall width, so 10'6" is a typical width. And you can fold in the mirrors, if you must.

When we got our coach 3 years ago, the driver's-side mirror arm was 90 degrees to the body, and was viewed through the side window. Besides worrying about clearance with the mirrors of oncoming trucks on narrow roads I do not find it convenient to have to turn left to see that mirror, so I put it around front, viewed through the windshield. The right mirror was pulled in a little as well, and the total width is 117.5 inches (9.8 feet). Pictures below before and after.

I was wondering if I could move mine and still see traffic. Looking out the side is a distraction. Guess I'll give it a try. Thanks Don!
