1999 LTC 40 with less than 100k miles

The transportation company I work for in central North Carolina has a 1999 Bluebird LTC 40 Detroit Diesel for sale.

The bus was grounded a little over a year ago due to trouble finding parts. We took it this past summer to our mechanic and he put together a quote to get the bus road ready to pass inspection. He was unable to locate the rear drums, he estimated the current ones to be good for another 1000 miles. I have included the estimate below of parts and his pricing. It is quite possible with the resources here on this site, the parts can be found for a better price - and I wouldn't be surprised to find that parts are more readily available with the right contacts.

Our company did not run this bus on long cross country trips, which is why the mileage is low. We do the majority of our work regionally. The body of this bus is in great shape, the engine runs strong, and besides the issues I've noted above this bus is ready to go anywhere.

We briefly considered taking the bus to a scrapyard, believing the issues with parts availability would make it impossible to use or sell honestly. However, after finding this site I believe there is hope! Noone wanted to scrap it, but there didn't seem to be much else to do with it, until I ran across this site. This bus could be used as a bus, an RV conversion, or simply for parts.

I suggested that Jeremy post this here on WOG as there might possibly be another WOG member that might want to take on a conversion project like Morefire did, or there may be WOG members that can help find the parts they need to get the bus to pass inspection.

Jeremy, has your company thought about putting the bus on eBay? It would be exposed to buyers worldwide and give you a very good idea as to it's value. Good luck with your sale.

Sorry for not updating this sooner, this bus sold a few months after I posted originally.
An Allstate agent in Greenville, NC purchased it and converted it into a mobile office. I saw some pictures shortly after he finished the first part of his conversion. It looked pretty nice!
