Default 8v92 turbo

What kind of noise is expected if there is a problem in the turbo? Seems to make boost fine, pyrometer shows about 700 for 15lbs boost.
After a highway run, I here a metalic clanging sound from somewhere in the rear. By the time I can get stopped and out the door, it's quiet. Could a turbo make a relatively loud noise sometimes but not tear itself to peices?

Thanks. joe

Joe, If that Turbo was making enough noise for you to hear it "clang" it would be toast.

Rick is correct. Turbo's spin at such a high RPM they don't clang generally they just make a funny zip and it is all over in a nano second.

Not sure what would cause a clang...something has worked loose somewhere?
Suspension or brakes? Belts?

Joe,
I'm not sure if your altenator is mounted the same as mine but I once had a similair noise and thats what it was. The mount for the altenator had worn oblong and the fan on altenator was randomly tinging on something. My coach only has 1 altenator and it's accessed from under the bed.
