Default 8V92 compressor coolant hose replacement

The good folk at CoachCraft made them up to fit from stock material. High pressure steel and silicone as Ernie describes. I too wonder how I managed to drive my bird 12 thousand miles in two years without one of the old hoses snapping like a dry stick.

Those old hoses are - out of sight, out of mind - but everyone should have their's replaced. A little pricey to do it but a heck of lot cheaper than a new engine/transmission.

Rob e-mailed me yesterday and suggested having the compressor rebuilt at the same time, which I think is a capitol idea.

Even though they may last for awhile the guy i spoke with at coachworx said at the very least if they failed would leave us on the side of the road! He said while its opened up they will look things over. He said they have a hose and fitting source close by for custom fabrication. Also offered that we could stay there if necessary.
I am going to go pick up my father in law and take him to the shop to visit. He was a trucker for many years and loves big stuff. Should be fun to see the shop!

I believe the 6V hoses can be accessed completely from the engine compartment as was Heck Man's. There is much more room to work.
On my 8V it WAS necessary to go thru the access panel in the bedroom. I removed (and replaced) the mattress and access cover. Figured it saved me a few bucks.
