I could have saved a few dollars using my Pen Fed card at a small station, but it was sure nice to be able to pump 174 gallons at a time the first time I used my TSD card at a Loves.
If you pay at the pump at smaller stations or even some of the bigger ones you get limited to usually $100, at the pump. If you go in before pumping and pre-authorize a dollar amount you expect to be pumping say $500 you can pump until full and wherever you stop pumping, say $350 is what you are charged the $500 never goes on the card just what you have pumped.

You just need to tell the person at the counter, I want to pre authorize X dollars at Y pump.

I have found that Love's gives the best discount and their discounted price will be the cheapest fuel in that area. If you shop hard you may be able to find fuel for as little as a few cents more. Loves is just easy. Always right off the interstate, you know you will be able to get in and out without worry, and it will be a great price. Around here (Ocala Area) If I shop hard, asn in, I live here, I can find fuel for 2.69 to 2.75, but most stations are 2.80 to 2.90. The cheapest will be at some little cant get in there station. Local Loves is 2.64 with the discount and pump price is 3.05.

And ... Thank you for the referrals!

Thank you all for the info!
I will leave the card in the bus when I get it. And it will at least come in handy on occasion, when we are traveling further.

We get 5% discount (currently about $.13/gal) with the Pen Fed credit card. However it is only valid if you pay at the pump. If you get a person involved (ie go inside) you don’t get the discount. The extra discount is why it is actually slightly cheaper than TSD at some smaller stations. I LOVE THE CARD , it’s just not true that it is the cheapest. Note that Randy’s $2.69 becomes $2.56/gal if you use a Pen Fed credit card. This is $.08/gal less than TSD. And yes, I can get my LXI and toad into Murphy, Costco, and convenience stores. But it is sure nice not to have to, thanks TSD.

True Jim, but you won't likely find that 2.69 station unless you live here.

Has anyone used or can this card be used at the pumps out front or only in the truck lanes ? Anyone with a FC probably knows the reason for this(burp).

We used it for the first time last week at a Love's truck stop. We paid $2.60 a gallon with it. Pump price was $2.99. Discount was $49 dollars for 126 gallons.

After a few weeks, I just received an email from TSD that my account has been setup to accept my Canadian bank’s US dollar account. This now works for us Canadians that fuel up in America. Thanks, TSD

As I’m relatively new to Wanderlodging, I’m likely misunderstanding something, but filling my FC at anything other than a commercial pump is painfully slow. Once was enough for me. A small discount at a regular pump wouldn’t be worth another 30 minute loss of life. I’ve never been hassled on the commercial pumps at truck stops. Most professional drivers have a few questions about the bus as they pass by. None complain.

From what I understand if you want to use efs at the auto pumps you have to go inside to run it. Because I'm usually pulling the truck I never consider using them anyway. The worst thing about filling the FC is that usually a driver only pulls up far enough to clear the back of the trailer not realizing my fill is at the back of the bus. As long as you aren't wasting time and blocking the pump without actually fueling I don't see the problem.
