Default Air Admittance valve in drain plumbing

I am looking for the location of the grey water drain system air admittance valve in Shadow, a 1988 PT 40. I would appreciate any clues before I go tearing things apart.

Thanks in advance for any help!

I was just monkeying with mine as I am redoing my h2o plumbing. In my ‘83 pt it is behind the aft facing panel under the drivers bedside drawer. Disregard, you’re looking for grey, not fresh...sorry.

Are you talking about the grey tank vent? A 2" ABS pipe is connected to the top of the grey tank and runs up to the roof. The black tank has one as well.

Thank you for the info. The vent I am looking for is inside the coach, most likely behind the kitchen pantry or bathroom sink. It is a 1 1/2 inch plastic cap on a vertical pipe that should come up above the level of the sink drains. It is designed to let air in to refill the pipes after water has drained into the grey tank. It is intended to be a one-way valve that will not let the tank stink into the coach, only fresh air into the plumbing. When I find it, I will post info and pictures.

Here's a drawing of the drainage system on my 84' PT-40 (most likely yours is similar). I believe you're looking for #26 on the drawing. There are two of those valves, one in the bathroom and one underneath the kitchen sink. On my coach the gray water air admittance valve is the one underneath the kitchen sink.

Hopefully that helps,

In my '91 I've found 2, one on each side (although I think my kitchen sink drains into the black tank). The one under the bathroom sink was where I would expect, right next to the sink, up high. The one on the kitchen sink side was not in the best location. It was many feet toward the tank, and not up as high as I would like. I may relocate. I found it by pulling out drawers, I believe under the stove. I can go find it if it helps. Not sure how similar your '89 layout is.....
