Default For Sale: 1991 SP36 -- clean, lots of upgrades & new parts

This Bird is ready to roll! (er...fly)

Since purchased from Ned Hoopes in July 2017 (see quote below), it's been a great home and a fantastic chariot through so many adventures. The intention was always to keep it for another decade or more, and we invested in it accordingly. (over $10k in new parts/upgrades/maintenance)

However, big changes in our lives have come and we'll unfortunately have to see this coach go to a new home.

More photos coming after Xmas. (I am an hour away from the coach, having moved out about a week ago.)

Until then, here's some history and a list of upgrades -- starting with quote from the P.O. (updates in BOLD RED)

engine batteries 2015 (house batteries 2018)
2 new Intelli chargers 2015
Voyager Color Backup Camera 2012
Maple floors by Ernie
Webasto heat
Splendide washer/dryer
Under sink water filter
Flat screen tv's
Recovered couch
Additional LED lighting in kitchen

Mileage - 131391 (now 148749)

This bird is a joy to own and to drive. I know I will miss it alot. I only hope I find a replacement unit which will prove to be as dependable. It has been stored under cover while I have owned it other than when on trips. I have journeyed to Florida, Vermont, Washington/Oregon/Idaho, and the southwest while owning. I can honestly say I have had minimal repairs and would not hesitate to load the refrigerator tomorrow and head out again.
I have to echo Ned's sentiments. This is a fantastic coach. We've kept it clean & have certainly "put it through its paces" via a couple good loops through the U.S. -- from Maine to Florida, Washington to Southern California, down the Appalachians, up through the Rockies, and many parts (and National Parks) in between. It has served us dutifully over 17,000+ miles.

A "short list" of upgrades since July '17 includes:
interior paint / trim renovation
new custom curtains (bedroom & living room)
new Whirlpool microwave / convection oven
water pump replaced (6.2gpm model) - Nov. '17
radiator replaced (new unit) - Dec. '17
alternator rebuilt - Dec. '17
new exhaust flex pipes (near turbo) - Jan. '18
new airbags (front suspension) - Jan. '18
tires (rear) - Jan. '18
house batt's replaced - Apr. '18
air compressor replaced - Aug. '18
new gravity-flush commode (replaced problematic Microphor) - Dec. '18
BONUS -- "tech cabinet" pre-wired for connectivity
**WiFiRanger modem & roof-mounted antenna
**WeBoost 4GX OTR for cell signal (hotspot booster)

This coach is in great condition, mechanically & cosmetically. Everyone who sees it seems surprised it's going on thirty!

Priced for quick sale, at $42K.

Nice Bus you should list it on wanderlodge.com. I sold several on there over the years while I move up to a bus with Girards (have one on there now). Helps to have a bunch of models in one place for people to make choices. Costs a bit but I found it is worth it as the buyers who came to look at my past rigs were informed on options and knew more of what to look for. Better buyers helps give value to the updates and maintained items found on private coaches as compared to storage lot fleet woods.

Thanks Greg. I appreciate the suggestion, and you make a good point as far as the usefulness of informed buyers on private coaches.
I have spoken with Randy Dupree, as far back as November (and more recently), regarding this coach/sale -- I will likely use his brokerage services (wanderlodge.com / buybyebluebird.com) if unable to find a buyer in the coming weeks...

Pics in next post!

Cross-posted this coach on Facebook, with 30 current photos. That post can be found here: https://facebook.com/groups/36350712...58009442673812

Those 30 photos, and more, can also be found in this album: https://photos.app.goo.gl/f3QfgJSXjnkef8WX8

96"

Could be tight in a side door BB with the curio cabinet and the breaker panel there. I know of a 90 SP36 (not for sale) without the curio to the right of the door but it's rare.

I agree it being tight but birds are the safest. Do you know how wide the door is?

Thanks, The chair is 25" wide. I've been thinking of a lift similar to those on a bus. It's a UFL or UVL under floor or under vehicle lift. We've seen them that go into one of the storage bays.

So,your planning on lifting the chair and the person?
Not transferring the person into a seat that would raise them into the coach?

Putting a chair lift into the side of a bird is not like putting a slide into any other RV.

On the SP Bird the 120vac load center is right beside the door steps.
And along the bottom of the walls theres a wire chase and plumbing for heat etc.
Ohh,it can be done, but its not going to be easy or cheap.

I have seen a Bird with a lift in the salon wall,it took a special extra high lift to go from the floor to the ground.

That coach is for sale, the one with the lift.
Give the guys at Luxury Motorcoach in Clearwater Fl a call, its there on consignment.
I think its an 86PT40?
Belongs to Patty -----------.
