Dan - After a couple hours sleuthing came to the conclusion that my problem is either in the 5-button thermostat itself ($80 online) or with a short in the flat ribbon telephone cable between the thermostat and the Hurricane control board. Elected to implement Don's workaround which tied Zone 1 to 2, and now Zone 2 controls all of the front and bedroom fans. Newly installed digital Honeywell thermostats control Zone 3 and electric baseboard heater. Is nice to have Hurricane heat throughout the coach again!

Front roof air on the M380 is working but the blower motor, which has been squealing, getting fed WD40, PB silicone lube et.c. for a while has finally packed it in as of this morning. Thankfully it got me through this hot weekend here. Assuming the Penguin is still the choice? Appreciate feedback, might try and get it fixed before PM.

I had my front a/c fan motor replaced on the advice of a long time RV tech, said the unit was built to last..a year later still working perfect..
Btw, the squirrel cage itself might be the causing the noise..

I think the front unit has finished packing it in, suggestions on replacement if other than the Penguin II and the conversion board? Best price and shipping is right around $1,400. Thanks

Could likely pay for fuel and get new stuff INSTALLED at Leon's and be money ahead.

Chip I would do some research and check how many amps the 15k units draw .when I was looking close to max of coach wiring, just my opinion.

That's what's on the bus now (04 M380), only have 2 of 'em so they have to work. Draws around 10A.

Dave, I've considered a long drive to Leon's but have other plans for some time to come, so I'd have to give up having a working front unit til your rally.

Steve Mahan suggested via PM simply pulling the board out of the old unit and using it instead of buying the conversion board for 5 button t-stat, that should save $100 or so. Anyone know any reason between Penguin as fitted to M380 (I assume these are both 15 year old units) and the new Penguin 2 why this wouldn't work?

Yes I'm still tempted to run up to Shipshe
