Default 1980 FC with Cummins (?) in LA

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/sgv/rvs/852304374.html

Does anyone know anything about this coach? I emailed the seller with questions about condition, ceiling pulling away as shown in photo etc and she says:

<<<

I believe the damage to the ceiling is heat damage from the sun on the outside, causing the lining to pull away from the roof on the inside as there is no evidence of water damage there. I think it just needs pinning back, but I'm not sure and would rather you saw it.

The carpet does need replacing as someone has spilt oil or something near the engine cubby.

Generator is a 4 cylinder generator, and does work but I don't know the brand. The compartment has been bolted closed to stop it from opening in traffic, but obviously could be opened if need be.

It's 34 ft in length.

I don't have manuals or diagrams as I bought this from a charity organization and I bought as is and fixed it up a bit.

Please contact me if you would like to come and see it.

Anyone in northeast LA who could go by and post a report?

this coach has been on craigslist before.
its got a big cummins engine in it,and its supposed to be a real runner.
A guy in alaska called me about it,he had talked to the owner.its been sitting for a long time.
i think it was donated to hospice.
the engine cover has been extended to cover the engine.

According to the owner, this coach was sold for $14,500. There was some dispute between buyer and seller but cash and pink slip changed hands. The seller knew nothing about the history of the coach and no documents were available. I think we might see it on the market again... Curt Sprenger was getting ready to go look at it with a mechanic friend but it sold before that could be done.

Major modifications may not be a good idea.

The new purchaser may have done you a big favor,
and save you $$$, Look on forum for a well cared for BB owned
by a conscientious owner, It is a better idea to pay more for maintenance
history, and condition, condition, condition.
Attend a BB rally and take a look at Vintage BB's, Check out the www.vintagebirds.com site for history and a great check-list.
There is a Bird for you in your price range somewhere. They are just spread out through the US. Ask a volunteer member to check a Bird of your interest that you may not be able to travel to.

Thanks Bill, that's exactly where I was going in this. There were way too many unknowns in that project.
