Default Safe-T-Steer / Safe-T-Plus / Steer Safe

Anyone have experience with the Safe-T-Steer and want to make a recommendation?

Not sure this is the answer you want but......

I have a Safe-T-Plus and like it. That is the one that is a steering dampener/huge shock absorber. It is not a huge difference as the BMC drove well before. However, the difference while subtle was welcome. It tracks better and less affected by wind and road conditions. It seems tag axle rigs don't need them but us two axle rigs like them.

If you are asking about the Steer Safe (The one with the springs) I have no experience with that one. Others have and will jump in.

That would be the deal. You can buy just the mount for your coach and Randy's unit and you are good to go. That is what I did. Don Bradner gave me his and I bought the mount kit from Hendersons Line Up. Mount kit was like $75 I think.

I put the Safe-T-Plus on my coach last Sept.
Main reason - claims of much better control if a steer tire should blow out. I can see where that would be the case.
A bit tricky to get centered exactly right. Need to test drive on a dead level road. Normally crowned roads create issues when trying to center.
Took a little getting used to. Steering a bit stiffer. It is a good chunk of change to plunk down for something that you won't feel and may never need. Just another insurance policy Kinda like my brand new spare tire - it will probably age out with our ever being used
In my case the jury is still out on wether or not it helped anything for normal driving. I suppose if you have a drifting or pulling issue you could use this to counteract.

I have it and love it, I ran the coach without it and hated it.

Gardner,
I think NH Bill had this installed on his FC last summer and is very happy with it. I don't think he's on the WOG much lately maybe you can PM him.
