Default Stair Step Light

How do you get to the little outside stair step light to replace the bulb?

I replaced mine with this LED unit from West Marine. Its of excellent quality and brighter then the light it replaced.

The shaft on the new LED that goes through the existing hole is a tad smaller than the one it replaced...I wrapped a few wraps of electrical cloth tape on the shaft for a nice tight fit.

Both available in LEDs. I replaced the step light with a slightly larger flange mounted unit that required me making a 1/4" thick backing plate. This unit anchors with 2 screws thru the panel.
I may not replace the center license plate lights as my license plate has been relocated to the ladder. The center location is never visible. Hidden either by the spare tire or enclosed trailer.

Default Stair Step Light

The existing bulb can be replaced. Use a small screwdriver to snap the whole assembly out of the stainless panel. Then pry the bulb holder out of the back of the whole assy. You can then replace the bulb.

HTH, Joe
Is it just "plug and play" into the existing socket and will they sell just 1?
