Default Cruise Air

I need opinions/thoughts.
Cruise air condensor fan motor failed compressor failed (at same time??)
Found fan motor ---easy found new compressor---easy. Install not so easy but not bad.
Information I get indicates R22 going away early 2015 ????? Will the R22 compressors go away also? If you cannot get R22 and as it's depleted/used up whats the need for building/overhauling old R22 compressors?.
Bring/post comments/thoughts.
Supply house has another compressor in stock says he can get more---for now.
AKA5512EXA around $350 ish I may buy as a spare he thinks cheaper with volume purchase. Any interest?

Ed,, R22 is not going away. There will be recycled for years to come. And if you want to stockpile a few jugs, I can get it for you.

I use window units for my compressors. R22 will be
around for a long time. I can help you also. I just replaced
one compressor with a scroll. Works great.

I'm curious as to how you got access to the CruiseAir units? Mine are working fine now, but someday I might need that info. Any pics?

Sorry no pics I've never learned how to from my tablet--s l o w learner,no teenager here.
Start by removing outside vent cover. There are service valves ports on hi and low sides.
This is where the R22 can be recovered. After R22 is evacuated loosen both lines going to evaporator inside coach, cover the ends to stop debris from contamination lines.
Now the not so easy bits, bottom of coach MUST be 15" above ground 20" would be better for jack clearance that way you can roll unit out from under coach. Ours had a small trim plate between coach side and bottom of Cruise Air this needs to come off--2 bolts.
Ours had 8 bolts 4 on each side holding unit to vertical attachment plates, bolts were pain in plan time for cut off wheel.
Place jack near center of Cruise Air remove all bolts, balance unit on jack and let it down.
Roll it out, ----easy huh.
Bring it here it's a lot easier from the pit
It was actually a LOT easier than I thought.

I can not speak about AC's, but in the grocery store refrigeration, you can change gas by changing the expansion valves.

They banned 502 freon that we used for our low temp cases and at that time, we were using 12 freon for the medium temp cases. We changed everything to 22 freon by changing out the expansion valves in the display cases. We had some slight problems with the ice cream cases because 22 freon was not as efficient as 502 freon and the case temp would not get cold enough (ice cream requires a lower temp to freeze than vegetables, etc.), however it worked. I think we may have had to adjust defrost cycles somewhat, but I do not remember.

I believe that they have developed replacement gases that are direct replacements, but I have been out of it awhile and a lot has changed. If it is important, I still know people who do know.

I found a 15 K window unit for 100 dollars on Craigslist. I had to re-pipe the suction and liquid line. I no longer needed the hard start kit so a little rewire and all is good. I am looking for the indoor controller currently the middle unit will come one but will not make temperature. So I will have to run it until it gets to cold then start it again. If someone has one I would like to talk to them.

Found on another website reporting similar issues with a iPad (iOS). Someone there replicated it and found these steps. Maybe it'll work for people here. Try these steps:

First you tap "Add Files":

Then you tap "Select Files":

Choose the required attachment from the camera roll.
Then tap "Upload Files":

Once it has uploaded, that part of the window will vanish. You now need to go to the BOTTOM of the page and tap "Done":

G'luck. Let people know if it works on WOG.
